short storiesshort stories

I enjoy writing short stories, and they have appeared in many anthologies. My first story for an anthology, published in Constable’s annual Winter’s Tales, was Near Forelander’s Kop, set in South Africa, which was praised in the Literary Review as “a peach of a story.” I published one every year in Winter’s Tales throughout its 11 years, plus stories in Serpent’s Tail and other anthologies, and magazines.

I am now gathering together a number of my stories to be published in e-book form. They will include, among others, Smelling of Roses, a story with a vampiric twist, from the anthology Dying for It – Tales of Sex and Death; Le Plaisir du Chef, a cautionary tale for foodies, and Adultery for Beginners, from Winter’s Tales; also Love and Death in Renaissance Italy, from Getting Even, Serpent’s Tail’s anthology of revenge stories. I have found it highly satisfying to bring these widely different stories together, and I hope you will enjoy reading them. Publication date to be announced.
